This piece shows Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom and knowledge. This deity, very popular in India, is represented here with all the attributes of traditional iconography, such as the gada (mace), the paasha (rope) and the broken tusk, elements whose symbolism is reflected in theavatars or traditional stories about Ganesha, well known by its numerous believers.
